What We Do
The Health and Social Care Standards: My Support, My Life in Scotland set out expectations for delivering high-quality care and support, ensuring that individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. The standards aim to promote person-centered care, where individuals have the right to make choices about their own lives and receive support that is tailored to their specific needs. The standards apply to a range of services, including care at home, care homes, hospitals, and other health and social care settings.
The standards are based on five key principles:
Dignity and Respect: Individuals must be treated with respect for their human rights and personal dignity.
Compassion: Services should demonstrate empathy and understanding in the care they provide.
Be Included: People should be involved in decisions about their care and have their opinions valued.
Responsive Care and Support: Care should be flexible, responsive, and tailored to the individual’s needs.
Wellbeing: Support should focus on improving or maintaining health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
The Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013: This legislation promotes choice and control for individuals in Scotland over the support services they receive, including the option for direct payments and personal budgets. HighlandHearts HomeCare Ltd. ensures that its services adhere to these standards and legislation, providing high-quality care and support to individuals in Scotland and the wider UK. Whether it’s helping with everyday activities or offering specialized care for conditions like dementia, our team is committed to enhancing the quality of life and fostering independence for each individual we serve.
